Joomla - logged in users always returned to login page

I have an issue with Gtranslate and Joomla that when a user logs in and then selects a language it immediately returns them back to the login page to login again. If they do login it returns invalid token.
When the user is not required to login everything works well.
Is this something I have configured incorrectly or is it a limitation of the free version of gtranslate ?
